- Mindful Eating: During this time we all are engaging in excessive eating or binging. Be mindful of the true hunger and cravings. Eat your food slowly while noticing how the effects of food like texture, taste, and aroma of your food and how it is affecting your feeling of hunger.
- Digital Detox: Spend few hours of your day away from all your gadgets like phone, tablets, television, and laptop, etc. refrain yourself from all the electronic devices and focus on the social interaction with your family members.
- Exercise: Engaging in exercise will boost you both physically and mentally while reducing stress and anxiety. Since you can’t go to the gym engage in workouts that you can do at home.
- Engage in a Play activity: Play board games with your family members or engage with your pet if you have one. Having a pet makes this time much easier as spending time with them reduces stress and helps you uplift your mood.
- Meditate: Meditation has said to improve your heart rate, blood circulation, blood pressure, and reduces anxiety and stress. Meditation can be done by sitting in a comfortable position with your eyes closed while focusing on a point, following your breath or chanting a mantra or OAM, and by focusing on your thoughts as they drift away from your mind.
- Maintain a Journal: Sometimes we feel the monotony of the times to be exhausting so it is better to reflect on your day by writing your thoughts down and focusing on your feeling throughout the day will help your understand your problem faced during the times, identifying your negative thoughts and help you prioritize your needs better.
- Get Organized: We are always complaining about not having the time to organize things in your environment well now is the time. Pick your place and get ready. It could be your wardrobe, your bookshelf, your laptop or any other place in your house. Get rid of things you don’t need to buy yourself some extra space.
- Reflect On your Goals: Setting smart, specific, attainable, and realistic goals is important for any personal achievement. Make a plan, focusing on the actions you need to take, set milestones for your achievements, and set deadlines. Make sure you add those actions to your everyday schedule.
- Practice a Hobby: Now is the time to learn the online course you have been waiting to do, to try on a new recipe, to paint or to make best out of waste. This stillness of the pandemic has given you that opportunity to get your mojo going. Stop worrying about not being good enough instead get on with it.
- Sleep: We all love to Netflix and chill but we are forgetting our eyes and body needs rest at the end of the day from all the day of surfing the internet. Take a nap and give your body some extra rest. Schedule your sleep if you want better productivity the next day.
- Join an Online Group: Since we are surfing the internet all day why not make it productive by joining a group of your interest related to your hobby, academics, future plans, book clubs, or are you a conspiracy theorists?
- Express Gratitude: Let people around you know that you appreciate their efforts and support during this time. Write a letter to your family members or call up your friends and thank them for their love and support.
